BIHAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDY

----------

In May 2014, ASER Centre, in partnership with the Bihar state government and UNICEF, carried out a state-wide assessment of students in Std 2, 4 and 6 from randomly selected clusters from all 38 districts. About 1047 schools participated in this large-scale assessment. 62, 000 children were assessed in language (Hindi) and Math as part of the Bihar Elementary School Study. The study generated data of the academic achievements of students enrolled in the 2013-2014 school year, to help guide CRCCs in improving teaching-learning practices in their schools. The study has also helped build capacities of key stakeholders at the district-level in understanding the nuts and bolts of conducting assessments and analysing the results.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Background  |  Main Findings (Provisional)  |  Technical Report   |   School & Learning Tables   | Bihar Elementary School Study - detailed report |  Bihar Elementary School Study - concise report  |  Learnings from Bihar Assessment
